An armed robbery at a mall in Orange County prompted a SWAT response late Saturday night.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of an armed robbery at The Shops at Mission Viejo around 8:30 p.m. According to authorities, an armed man wearing an orange or red wig and all-black clothing held up a Nordstrom store. 

The suspect brandished a weapon and fled with an unknown amount of cash. No shots were fired, the sheriff’s department stated.

Deputies on scene were told the armed robbery suspect left the mall.

Some people inside the mall had to shelter in place after learning about the robbery. Saturday’s incident left one person with minor injuries. 

No arrests have been made. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 20 to 30 years
old, who was wearing an orange or red wig, black clothing and sunglasses.
