Call him Snappy Gilmore.
In a class of his very own, Adam Sandler’s shabby chic vibe has earned him top billing as Google’s top trending celebrity style star of 2021 — and fashion aficionados are floored by the findings.
“He’s the ultimate ‘f—k you’ of fashion,” style expert Robert Verdi told The Post of the “Click” actor’s unapologetically unfussy flair. “He looks like he’s on his way to rehab, but people love it because it’s authentic.”
Sandler, 55, best known for sporting supersized sport shorts and untucked tees, bested the likes of pop powerhouses Britney Spears (No. 2), Harry Styles (No. 6) and Lizzo (No. 9) in Google’s “celebrity outfits” search category.
And Verdi — a stylist who once served as the host of “Fashion Police” and held a cameo role in “The Devil Wears Prada” — attributes the Brooklyn native Sandler’s newfound fashion fame to the pandemic.
“In the wake of COVID we’ve all realized that materialism doesn’t matter,” said the style guru of Sandler, who’s worth an estimated $420 million. “He’s representing what we all did during lockdown, which was staying in the same sweats for a week, not taking a shower every day and wearing old house shoes to walk the dog.”
Sandler, like many teens and off-duty leggy supermodels, is also a fan of Ugg boots, which he deftly pairs with bare legs and gigantic shorts.
“His ‘f—k it’ look resonates with people now more than ever because that’s real life. No one is walking around in Dior and diamonds. People like the fact that he’s comfortable just being himself,” Verdi added.
And the thousands of fans who follow #SANDLERCORE — a hashtag with 329,000 videos on TikTok — couldn’t agree more.
“All I want to wear right now is Sandlercore,” said one fan in a video showing a series of pics of Sandler’s street style. “That’s hot.”
“I’ve decided that 2022 is the year my style will be a hundred percent influenced by Adam Sandler,” tweeted another admirer of the trend.
Here, Verdi weighs in on some of Sandler’s most oafish outfits.
“Breaking Bad” fab
“This is total meth-maker chic right here,” Verdi joked of Sandler’s ramshackle wear. “The look gives me Walter White in ‘Breaking Bad,’” he laughed, referring to Bryan Cranston’s crystal meth-cooking character in the AMC hit drama.
Up to no good
“He looks like he just committed a crime,” said Verdi. “This is the outfit you wear when you’re sneaking out, late night, to cheat on your boo with your side boo,” he chuckled. (Note: Sandler’s been married to his wife Jackie for 18 years, and there haven’t been any rumors of his infidelity).
“Happy Gilmore” garb
“He’s dressed like he’s getting ready to play golf with Caitlyn Jenner,” said Verdi, noting Sandler’s mint-colored polo shirt and soft cargo cutoffs. “It’s a messy look, but it’s his more formal, more elevated messy look because he’s probably going somewhere that’s semi-important.”
Comfy coordination
“This North Face hoodie outfit is probably his most unfashionably fashionable look,” said Verdi. “His haircut looks fairly fresh, the red in the hoodie ties in with some of the red in his socks and sneakers and the blue mask kind of goes with the shorts,” he added. “But the dog is the real eye-catcher here.”
