Everything’s coming up Wednesday.

We simply cannot get enough of the hit Netflix show right now and we’re already making ‘dark academia’ fashion choices as a result.

The Wednesday Addams effect is making itself known in all areas of life.

But now Jenny Ortega’s hair in the popular show (and in real life) is inspiring our beuaty choices too – just in time for Christmas and the new year.

Of course, we’ve seen all kinds of different fringes emerge this year – from baby to Birkin – but Wednesday’s bangs are dramatic yet flattering

Nicole Petty, a hair expert Milk + Blush, says they are a great choice if you’re looking to venture into the fringe world for the first time.

She tells Metro.co.uk: ‘Bangs, like Wednesday’s/Jenny’s, are full and skim the eyes down to the ears from a centre parting.

‘If you want to try out bangs for the first time, it’s a good “entry level” fringe that suits most hair types and face shapes.

‘But if you have a cowlick, or your hair naturally falls in a side parting, this probably isn’t the style for you.’

Also, Nicole has some advice for hair with highlights.

She explains: ‘If you have balayage colour, where highlights begin slightly lower than the parting or midway down the lengths of your hair, consider getting it refreshed around the face during the same hair appointment to avoid your bangs looking flat and dull.’

However, if you’re thinking of dipping your toe in the trend, be prepared for the effort that comes with it.

Nicole says: ‘Bangs may look effortless but be warned – they’re high maintenance and require a trim every 4-6 weeks.

‘You’ll have to clip them back if you’re going to the gym, it’s windy or to do your beauty routine.

‘Also, if you want to give bangs a try, but don’t want to commit to a lengthy re-growth phase if you don’t like them, try a clip in option first.’
