If there’s one skincare brand all BAZAAR.com editors can agree truly rocks, it’s Tatcha. The elegant, elevated, and thoughtfully-designed creams, cleansers, and treatments frequently top our best-of lists, like the 2022 Skincare Award-winning Rice Enzyme Powder and the celebrity-beloved Dewy Skin Cream.
To extend the reach of their nourishing and renewing formulas below the décolleté, Tatcha just debuted its first-ever body care collection, which is available to shop starting today.
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, the three-piece line includes a hinoki-infused exfoliating body wash, lightweight body milk, and non-greasy body oil. And unlike other body exfoliators you may have tried, the Hinoki Body Wash is powered by cellulose (the main component of plant cell walls) to provide gentle physical exfoliation. Think of it as an eco-friendly alternative to microplastic beads.
Each product features Tatcha’s Forest Awakening essential blend, which contains a mix of cedar, hiba, and hinoki oils with compounds that aim to reduce stress, lift your mood, and help improve overall well-being. It’s meant to capture the magic of forest bathing—that is, taking a walk in the woods as a form of ecotherapy—except you’re in your bathroom where there are (hopefully) less bugs.
Just like most of Tatcha’s products, the Forest Awakening collection is suitable for most skin types (and pregnancy!), and is ideal for minimizing dryness while evening skin’s texture. In honor of the new launch, the brand has partnered with the organization American Forests to help replant trees in El Dorado, California, at the site of the area’s destructive King Fire in 2014.
Tatcha’s Forest Awakening collection is available exclusively at tatcha.com starting at $40.
