Joe and Denise Jacobs will open One Stop Jewelry Shop at 7 E. Oak Ridge Drive on June 1.
“I’ve been doing jewelry for 25 years,” Joe Jacobs said Monday.
He’s worked at other stores and been in business for himself. Most recently, he said, he and Denise operated out of their home in Spring Mills, W.Va.

“We had a studio in our basement,” he said.
He said they had been looking for a location for a while and decided on the spot on Oak Ridge Drive just east of South Potomac Street. It’s a high-traffic area, he said.
As for the timing, Jacobs said birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries and other memorable events take place, regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“People are always needing jewelry repaired,” he said. “They’re always needing rings sized. … We do on-site jewelry repair. Everything is done in-house.”
The store will carry an array of diamonds and other stones, earrings, rings “and pretty much everything that every other jewelry store has,” he said.
Jacobs also said he can work with clients to produce custom designs.
The One Stop Jewelry Shop also will offer engraving, he said.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. It will be closed Sundays.
A grand-opening celebration is scheduled for June 4 and 5. The store will offer specials and a drawing for a half-carat diamond, with the winner to be announced June 19, Jacobs said.
