Cary, N.C. — Stores begin opening Monday in the new Fenton mixed-use shopping center, and the grand opening is a month away.
According to developers, Sephora and Athleta will open Monday, although there is still work to be done to finish the community, which, in addition to shopping retail, will feature restaurants, more than 800 apartments, Hotel Fenton and 1 million square feet of office space.
There will also be a movie theater with pod and zero-gravity seating and an open space for concerts or, during the holidays, an ice skating rink.
Fenton is located across from the old Cary Towne Center site, where demolition is in progress so the space can serve as the new headquarters for Epic Games.
Developers believe Fenton’s mixed-use space is what people want and told WRAL News the response from the community has been positive.
Fenton’s grand opening is slated for Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5. A family day is already scheduled for Saturday, and Fenton’s Sports Day will be held on Sunday, June 5, from 1 to 6 p.m.
